Chloë p.f. Lalonde

Chloë p.f. Lalonde (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist, cultural worker and caregiver from Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montreal who holds a bachelors degree in art education and anthropology from Concordia University and a masters degree in art and science from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. They are interested in the material cultural of art, notably painting, and the experiences of inclusion and exclusion that emerge in the field of art, hidden labor, the accessibility of materials and resources engaged in artistic production, education and cultural work. Her practice is slow and circular, aiming to engage the public and be as accessible, sustainable and waste-free as possible. The visual aspect of their practice uses synaesthesia to record and translate dialogues, exploring neurodiverse and neurodegenerative ways of knowing.

 

Recently, Chloë participated in Apprenticeship to Glaciology in südTirol in collaboration with the Angewandte Interdisciplinary Lab in Vienna, Austria, where their work has also been shown at Künstlerhaus Wien and Künstverein PSK. In Canada, Chloë has participated in projects with Western Front, Verticale, Festival des Art Ruelles, POP Montréal and Imprimerie. She has written for C Magazine, Art Mur, articule, Ada X, Esse, ISSAY and Maisonneuve, and has worked with community centres across the Greater Montreal Area, the University of Applied Arts of Vienna, MOMENTA Biennale de l’image, 4th SPACE, and the Concordia University Center for Creative Reuse, among others. She is currently an art educator and cultural mediator at the Museum of Fine Arts, the Westmount Visual Arts Center, and soon, the Centre Culturel Georges Vanier.
