Wawa Li

Torn between reason and dream, Wawa’s art is an ongoing healing process. From words to threads to pixels, she processes mediums as dialects. Daughter and family translator, she produces independent works infused with street-level epistemologies, explores the potential of technological tools for anthropological archiving and studies Tai Chi Chuan (Yang) under the lineage of master Grace Chui. While feeling fruitless in her tai chi apprenticeship, her work fights towards her ancestors’ utopia with what she believes to be human’s best weapon: empathy.
