Standards of Practice: A panel on the socioeconomic environment for artists in Quebec and Canada
Nov. 2, 2023, 9:23 a.m. – by Celine Bureau
Panelists : Laurence D. Dubuc, Rowan Lynch & James Nicholas Dumile Goddard
This past March, Céline had an opportunity to speak with Laurence D. Dubuc, Rowan Lynch, and James Nicholas Dumile Goddard to discuss the contemporary realities of visual artists working in Quebec and Canada.
This conversation addresses our current socioeconomic environment, the post-pandemic financial impact, proposals to improve working and living conditions, and the impact of Quebec’s Bill 35 on visual artists. We are very grateful to our panelists who were willing to speak openly and frankly on issues that are oftentimes kept quiet in arts communities.
